Casale delle More It all began with the great-grandparents, who farmed the land with love and absolute dedication as a tenant farm with their 6 children from 1920 to 1948. They looked after the property and the associated olive grove, mainly ancient trees of the “Gentile” and “Leccino” varieties. A year later, the Tucci family moved to the valley of the Sangro River and left the property with the associated fields and olives to the owners; after a while it was abandoned and became overgrown. This is exactly where our Azienda Agricola is located today. With a lot of effort and after long negotiations, Ireneo and Antje were able to purchase the property; it was already so overgrown that the olives were overgrown with blackberries. So the name came about almost automatically: “Casale delle More”. The Azienda Agricola is located in the hills between the sea and the mountains, in the heart of the Val di Sangro in Abruzzo. The ancient trees are in a geographically unique location, with an ideal microclimate that produces excellent olives.
The family's philosophy was and still is to produce a product with passion, love and respect for nature. Excluding any chemical products. In order to carefully manufacture our products, we attach great importance to the following points: Cultivation of the soil: According to the old Nonno Ginesio method. Caring for the trees: Individual, gentle pruning is carried out for each variety and soil condition. The harvest: exclusively by hand and as soon as the olives are ripe. Transport: After harvesting, it takes a maximum of 6 hours until pressing. Pressing: Takes place using a cold pressing process. Storage: The fresh oil is stored in stainless steel barrels. The bottling: Is always carried out by hand.
